Description

Ledcor is seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day field operations to ensure that large-scale fiber optic projects are completed on time and within budget. You will be fully competent in construction practices, developing and implementing project plans and schedules, ensuring safety and quality control, and delegating work to field staff, contractors, and tradespeople.

This role operates independently and serves as a resource for less experienced colleagues. It is guided by department policies, resource requirements, budgets, and the business plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and building codes, maintaining high-quality standards.
2. Participate in developing and managing the Project Quality Plan (PQP) on site.
3. Ensure site safety measures meet or exceed safety manuals and regulatory standards, and oversee safety meetings.
4. Monitor construction schedules to meet milestones and deadlines.
5. Identify and analyze scheduling issues or delays and support solutions.
6. Estimate durations and materials for large, multi-discipline projects, including design-build projects.
7. Assess impacts of change requests within scope of responsibility.
8. Guide and coordinate field staff and resources, adjusting plans to meet operational goals.
9. Manage subcontractors regarding costs, safety, schedule, and quality expectations.
10. Oversee procurement processes and review invoices from subtrades and suppliers.

Qualifications:

1. Five to eight years of construction experience as a Superintendent or similar supervisory role.
2. Two-year college, trade, or technical diploma preferred.
3. Strong understanding of current construction practices, documents, costs, and budgets.
4. Ability to plan and manage project schedules, identify constructability issues, and develop solutions.
5. Excellent communication skills to interpret stakeholder needs and lead diverse teams.

Work Conditions:

• Position based on-site.
• Up to 40% travel across Pennsylvania and to Ledcor offices.
