Job summary

Skanska USA Building seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support on-site field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and profitably. Reports to the Superintendent and works closely with owners, architects, and subcontractors while leading field crews and enforcing the Safety and Health Program.

Responsibilities include short-term scheduling, cost monitoring, quality inspections, daily reports, and active participation in project meetings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven construction experience.
• 3+ years’ experience administering safety and QC policies with the ability to learn the Skanska Safety and QAQC Culture.
• 1+ year working with schedule milestones and look-ahead schedules.
• 1+ year assisting with job site logistics and management.
• 1+ year tracking COs and tickets.
• 1+ year working with plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor.
• Inspection of Contractor or (Sub)Contract operations to ensure contract compliance.
• Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Superintendent/Project Manager.
• Maintain good relationships with Owner and Architect/Engineer representatives.
• Develop and maintain site logistics plan with Superintendent/Project Manager.
• Conduct quality inspections.
• Monitor costs, including labor time and materials.
• Communicate and enforce the Skanska Safety and Health Management Program.
• Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment and mentor others.
• Manage schedules and prepare detailed short-term schedules.
• Prepare and submit Superintendent’s Daily Reports.
• Attend project and subcontractor meetings.
• Familiar with Skanska Self-Perform programs where applicable.
