Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Construction Representative to inspect and document infrastructure projects including roads, water mains and sewers in the Grand Island area. You will contribute to project procedures, budgets and client relationships from day one.

The role requires a BS in Civil or Construction Engineering, 0–5 years of field experience with DOT preferred, and proficiency with ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, or AutoCAD. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related engineering curriculum; EIT preferred.
• 0-5 years of experience with DOT is preferred.
• Experience on field projects is desirable.
• Experience using ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD is desirable.
• Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills.
• Strong organization and the ability to perform services within budgets and schedules.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review and assure project supervisor of budget and schedule adequacy.
• Perform construction observation and follow project procedures.
• Maintain field book per project procedures.
• Measure construction work and calculate pay item quantities.
• Prepare Inspector's Daily Reports and other required documentation.
• Report progress, issues, and deficiencies to the project supervisor.
• Review plans, specs, and submittals for assigned work.
• Provide design or other professional assistance to project managers.
• Maintain assigned company vehicle and equipment.
