Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking an entry-level professional to support the assistant superintendent and superintendent in field construction activities on a Orlando jobsite.

Responsibilities include reviewing submittals and shop drawings, planning site layouts, guiding field engineers, scheduling daily activities, ensuring safety, and monitoring costs and productivity to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Requirements include a B.S. in construction management/science, engineering or related field or 4 years of construction trade experience.
• Successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training (may obtain within first year)
• Entry level position

Responsibilities

• Review record documents, submittals, shop drawings, and schematics to determine project scope and materials.
• Plan site layout, startup activities, security, utilities, and material storage areas.
• Direct field engineers in survey and layout; verify dimensional control lines with third-party surveys.
• Schedule daily/weekly activities for each craft; issue detailed technical instructions to foremen.
• Ensure site safety; implement safety plans and procedures; supervise safety compliance.
• Monitor labor costs, budget conformance, and productivity; adjust crew sizes and equipment as needed.
• Supervise equipment usage, maintenance, and costs; inspect subcontracted work for quality.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to resolve plan ambiguities.
• Ensure compliance with laws/codes; manage inspections for occupancy certificate.
• Maintain daily activity reports; close-out tasks and as-built documentation.

Education
