Job summary

Austin Industries, Inc. is seeking an assistant superintendent to support field construction activities on the assigned jobsite in Salt Lake City, UT.

The role involves reviewing plans, coordinating subs, and guiding foremen to ensure timely completion and quality workmanship. The incumbent will help with site layout, safety plan implementation, and daily/weekly scheduling for each craft, while monitoring costs and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering or related field (or 4 years of commercial construction trade experience in lieu of degree).
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year).
• Entry level position

Responsibilities

• Reviews records documents, submittals, shop drawings, and schematics to determine project scope and materials.
• Plans daily and weekly activities for each craft within the overall construction schedule.
• Monitors safety plans and procedures on the jobsite.
• Directs field engineers in initial survey and layout and ensures dimensional accuracy before foundation work begins.
• Provides technical guidance to resolve construction problems and improve efficiency.
• Monitors weekly labor costs and adjusts resources to control costs.
• Oversees equipment use, maintenance, and cost throughout the project.
• Ensures compliance with applicable laws and coordinates inspections for occupancy certificates.
• Maintains daily activity reports for field construction work.
