Job summary

Waukesha-pearce Industries Llc in Odessa, TX is seeking a Field Compressor Journeyman on a 14/14 schedule to service the Odessa/Midland area. You will lead the team, train technicians, and perform work on natural gas engines and compressors.

Responsibilities include developing others, reading schematics, following OEM standards, completing service reports, and ensuring safe, high-quality maintenance activities with proper paperwork and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of gas compressor experience
• Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, sketches, drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of OEM equipment and troubleshooting natural gas engines and compressors

Job description

Job purposeThe Field Compressor Journeyman rotates on a 14/14 schedule servicing the Odessa/Midland area. The FCJ lead, and train other technicians while performing jobs on natural gas engines and compressors. Promote good attitudes with technicians to accomplish the job. Assist the Regional Field Service Manager and Field Compressor Master Journeyman with daily job assignments/workforce planning.Duties and responsibilitiesThe Field Compressor Journeyman is responsible and accountable for, but not limited to, the following:Perform tasks with minimal supervision and according to WPI and OEM standards.Responsible for development of other technicians.Able to read schematics, blueprints, sketches, drawing and specificationsDetermines the best possible procedure to perform job safely and effectivelyPerform Waukesha Service Bulletin upgrades as sent by factory.Inspects own work at each step checking tolerances and correct fit that matches OEM spec’s.Demonstrates excellent productivity for job task being performed.Complete all required paperwork including service reports, PM’s sheets, JSEA, inspection forms, Waukesha startup and deferred startup forms, failure assessment form, compressor inspection forms, etc.Work safely and maintain the work with high standards of housekeeping on location and in service truck.Performs required Preventative Maintenance activities on company and personal own air tools, air compressor, truck, crane, etc…LO/TO of every job assigned and reviewed with crew.Must own basic tooling for position, (open end and boxed end wrenches from 1/4 -2”), (3/8”, 1/2 and 3/4” ratchet and socket sets), (Air impacts 3/8, 1/2, 3/4), (Screw drivers sets), Hammers, sledges, and a fluke 87 volt ohm meter, at a minimum).Aid customers as requested on issues they are having.Other duties as may be assigned by management.QualificationsMinimum of 4 years of gas compressor experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Must have a valid driver license and have a driving record that complies with WPI insurance requirements.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of OEM equipment and proficient in troubleshooting both natural gas engines and compressors.Knowledge and experience all tooling, including laser alignment, Hytorc, borescopes, and emissions analyzer.Advanced mechanical principles and mathematics.Blueprint & Schematic reading.Must be proficient in electrical diagnostics.Must be proficient in computer skills (basic operation, Windows, and Micro Soft Office)Knowledge of electronic controls such as PLC’s, Murphy panels, Altronic, and ESM.Must have supervisory and leadership skills.Must be proficient using precision measuring tools.Truck crane operation experience.WPI is an EEO/AA (equal opportunity/affirmative action) institution and does not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, race, color, religion, physical or mental disability, creed, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, or gender expression in the programs or activities which it operates.En EspanolWPI es una institució n EEO/AA (igualdad de oportunidad/acció n afirmativa) y no discrimina en base al sexo, edad, raza, color, religión, discapacidad física o mental, credo, origen nacional, estatus veterano, orientació n sexual, infomació n genética, identidad de género, o expresió n de género en los programas o actividades los cuales opera.
