Job summary

Fairweather, a Doyon company, seeks a Field Community Liaison to support the Pikka Project on Alaska's North Slope. You will manage community interface, subsistence representation, and field welfare coordination.

The role emphasizes safety, cultural awareness, dispute mediation, and liaison with Field Environmental Coordinators, KSOP Subsistence Representatives, and project personnel.

Working environment is a remote field setting; requires endurance and ability to carry tasks up to thirty pounds.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Proficient in MS Office, report writing, and conflict resolution.
• 10+ years of North Slope experience.
• Knowledge of Kuukpik history.

Responsibilities

• Work with community and project personnel to ensure safe, risk-free interactions aligned with the OSA-Kuukpik Land Use Agreement.
• Assist/mediate on-site community disputes.
• Communicate project safety or project-community related issues with management and Community Affairs Manager as required.
• Assist with Subsistence Representative/Ice Road Monitor program administration, including vehicle, accommodation, and welfare issues.
• Coordinate with Field Environmental Coordinators to align subsistence activity concerns and remedial actions.
• Coordinate with Field Environment Coordinators on weekly Subsistence Representative reports for distribution to management.
• Inform field personnel about subsistence activities, access to project areas under the Land Use Agreement, cultural awareness, and good neighbor expectations.
