Job summary

Houchens Food Group, established in 1917 and 100% employee owned, is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Service Technician to support our network of supermarkets and convenience stores. The role focuses on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems across assigned locations.

The technician will work in the field with minimal supervision, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with store teams, supervisors, and vendors to ensure product integrity and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
Valid driver’s license required.
2–5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and diagnose refrigeration, electrical, and control system issues.
Perform routine and non-routine service calls in a timely manner.
Support rack systems, case controls, and related components.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on commercial refrigeration systems.
Respond to emergency service calls and system failures.
Maintain accurate work orders, labor, and refrigerant usage.
