Job summary

Farmers Furniture is seeking a collections associate to locate, notify, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts. You will manage payment postings, daily logs, and may visit customers' homes for collection activities.

Responsibilities include communicating with customers, preparing legal- action paperwork, and supporting store operations while upholding equal opportunity standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; six months collections or office exp.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
• Data review, prioritization, and analysis per standards.
• Guidance and interpretation of procedures to others.
• Ability to operate common office equipment and software.
• Ability to analyze and interpret numeric data and graphs.
• Judgment and independent action within standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sends texts, mails letters and late notices to collect delinquent accounts.
• Confer with customers by text or phone to determine reasons for nonpayment.
• Document all correspondence and attempts with customers.
• Receive payments and post to customer accounts.
• Maintain and balance cash drawer; keep drawer secure when unattended.
• Travel to customers' homes to collect payments; assist with repossessions when approved.
• Prepare paperwork before legal action against severely late payers.
• Initiate credit investigations by phone under the Credit Manager.
• Log daily, weekly, and monthly work activity.
• Assist customers on the sales floor as directed; participate in sales floor rotation.
• Maintain sales quotas per store goals.
