Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic coating inspections under supervision. You will verify surface prep to SSPC/NACE standards, monitor ambient conditions, and measure film thickness while documenting each step on tanks, structures, pipes, and concrete.

Requires AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and 1+ year experience in industrial coatings; travel and site work around blasting/spray operations may be required. Growth opportunities offered.

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfort around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.
• Honest about what the gauge reads.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standard.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers and pot life.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph stages.
