Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to conduct basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of a CIP Level 2/3 inspector, ensuring surface prep, ambient conditions, and film thickness meet SSPC/NACE standards.

The role requires AMPP CIP Level 1 certification, 1+ year in coatings, and willingness to work around tanks, structures, blasting, and spray operations; you will document every step and maintain logs.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification required and current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standards.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness; check holidays and defects.
• Record materials batch numbers and pot life per data sheet.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
