Construction Material Testing is seeking a diligent Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections under a CIP Level 2/3 supervisor. You will verify surface prep to SSPC/NACE standards, measure film thickness, monitor ambient conditions, and document every step from blasting through application on tanks, structures, and pipes.

This entry role requires AMPP CIP Level 1 certification, 1+ year in coatings, and comfort working around blasting operations.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records; honest about gauge readings.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standard.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness and check holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing and pot life.
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
