Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Project Engineer to support project management and construction teams on heavy civil projects. You will help ensure adherence to specifications, budget, and schedule with technical support, field coordination, and administrative duties.

The role requires a Civil Engineering background, 0–3 years of experience, and proficiency with construction software. Travel to project sites is expected as needed; strong communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• 0–3 years of experience in heavy civil construction preferred (internships counted).
• Strong understanding of construction principles and project management.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in planning, directing project activities.
• Review plans, specs and contracts to ensure compliance during construction.
• Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and daily reports.
• Track progress, identify issues, and assist in preserving schedule and budget.
• Conduct site visits to monitor quality, safety, and plans.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams for timely delivery.
• Assist in cost tracking, forecasting, and budget analysis.
• Support safety policies on job sites and participate in meetings.
• Take meeting minutes and distribute information.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist with estimating.
