Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Project Engineer to support project management and field teams on heavy civil projects. You will assist in planning, cost tracking, documentation, and schedule adherence, while coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, 0–3 years of experience, and proficiency with industry software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in heavy civil construction, internships included.
• Strong understanding of construction principles, practices, and project management methodologies.
• Proficiency with construction software (Primavera P6, HCSS HeavyJob, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in planning, organizing, and directing project activities.
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance during construction.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and daily reports.
• Track project progress, identify potential issues, and assist in developing solutions to maintain schedule and budget.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor work quality, safety, and adherence to plans.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Assist in cost tracking, forecasting, and budget analysis for assigned projects.
• Support the implementation and enforcement of company safety policies on job sites.
• Participate in project meetings, take meeting minutes, and distribute information to stakeholders.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist with estimating activities as needed.

Job Overview

Job Summary** The Project Engineer at Primoris Heavy Civil in Baton Rouge, LA, will support project management and construction teams in the successful execution of heavy civil projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, budget, and schedule. This role involves a blend of technical support, field coordination, and administrative duties.
