Job summary

Arcwood Environmental, LLC is seeking a Field Chemist to sort and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, ensuring compatibility and safety in all processes for our customers’ projects across the region.

The role reports to the Field Office, travels to sites daily, and requires an associates degree (bachelors preferred), 2+ years’ related experience, a valid driver's license with Hazmat and Class B CDL endorsement within 6 months, and the ability to pass a motor vehicle record.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience (lab packing or environmental waste preferred).
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and safe practices at all times.
• Assist in segregation of chemicals by hazard class and pack materials in appropriate containers; prepare for transportation.
• Determine and load supplies for job completion and travel to sites to perform lab pack services.
• Assist in characterizing materials at field project sites.
• Adhere to placarding and load segregation requirements when transporting hazardous materials.
• Develop good customer relations by communicating with site points of contact at customer locations.
• Direct Field Technicians/Drivers assisting with waste collection.
• Maintain knowledge of high-hazard materials management and cylinder handling.
• Travel to support outside locations as needed.
