Job summary

Solenis in Oregon seeks a Chemical Support Engineer to act as the primary technical resource for the district, ensuring treatment chemicals and equipment are applied safely, effectively, and cost-efficiently across customer sites. You will collaborate with Sales Account Managers to design, implement, and optimize treatment programs within the pulp and paper industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or technical discipline; equivalent experience considered.
• 10+ years of relevant manufacturing or equipment experience.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Strong customer relationships and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to participate in on-call weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine service visits and testing to ensure safe, effective, and compliant treatment programs.
• Provide technical support and pre-sales expertise to customers and the sales team.
• Maintain accurate service records, update databases, and prepare weekly service reports.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues; develop corrective action plans and communicate findings to customers and Sales Account Managers.
• Provide technical input for proposals and projects; identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
• Analyze treatment program performance data and recommend improvements.
• Perform routine monitoring, maintenance, and inspection of feed equipment.
• Participate in technical training and professional development.
