Job summary

  • Maintain accurate service records and prepare weekly reports.
  • Troubleshoot issues at customer sites and develop corrective actions.
  • Provide input for proposals and identify growth opportunities within accounts.
  • Analyze treatment program data and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor and inspect feed equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and development.

Position Summary

As a Chemical Support Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical resource for the district, ensuring treatment chemicals and equipment are applied safely, effectively, and cost-efficiently across customer sites. You will collaborate closely with Sales Account Managers to design, implement, and optimize treatment programs within the pulp and paper industry.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct routine service visits and testing to ensure safe, effective, and compliant treatment programs.
  • Provide technical support and pre-sales expertise to customers and the sales team throughout the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate service records, update databases, and prepare weekly service reports.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues at customer sites, develop corrective action plans, and communicate findings to customers and Sales Account Managers.
  • Provide technical input for proposals, projects, and customer-façing documentation, while identifying opportunities for business growth within existing accounts.
  • Analyze treatment program performance data and recommend improvements.
  • Perform routine monitoring, maintenance, and inspection of feed equipment.
  • Participate in technical training and professional development activities to expand technical knowledge and skills.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, or other technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered, including 10+ years of relevant manufacturing or equipment experience.
  • Ability to solve complex and non‑routine technical problems.
  • Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial processes and customer operations, or the ability to quickly learn industry‑specific applications and technologies.
  • Results‑driven mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must reside within approximately 45 minutes of Lewiston, ID, and be willing to travel throughout Eastern Washington as needed to support customer sites.
  • Experience with laboratory testing, pumps, pipefitting, and electrical systems preferred.
  • Willingness to participate in an on‑call weekend rotation, typically up to one weekend per month.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $77,270.00 and $113,322.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
