Job summary

Marketplace Chaplains is seeking a part-time chaplain to serve Beardstown, IL, and neighboring communities in a remote, ministry-focused capacity. The chaplain will visit worksites weekly to provide spiritual support for employees and their families, respecting diverse beliefs and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting.
Excellent listening and communication skills to interact with clients and families.
Spiritual maturity and commitment to Christian values and ministry principles.
Diplomacy, patience, and courtesy when dealing with diverse groups in sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

Visit company worksites on a regular basis (usually weekly) to interact with employees and build relationships of trust.
Provide confidential pastoral discussions and spiritual support to employees and immediate family members.
Assist in planning or attending funerals and provide follow-up support during grief periods.
Offer literature and resources to employees for life issues and connect them with appropriate services as needed.
Participate in employee orientation to explain the Employee Care Service and Chaplain Team role.
