Job summary

Marketplace Chaplains is seeking chaplains to serve employees and their families across client worksites in the United States. The role centers on weekly visits, confidential pastoral care, and mission-driven ministry to support wellbeing and resilience on diverse worksites.

Chaplains will engage with employees and families, provide counseling and spiritual support, coordinate resources, and attend funerals when needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting.
• Strong listening skills and ability to deliver community presentations; interact with clients and families under stress.
• Spiritual maturity and commitment to Christian values; active participation in a biblically based church.
• Diplomacy, patience and courtesy with diverse groups; maintain professional relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
• Excellent oral and written communication; maintain emotional stability handling emergencies and suffering.
• Analytical skills to define problems and identify solutions; interpret policies.
• Proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, and other common software; adaptable to new tech.
• Must have an active state driver’s license and state minimum auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Makes regular visits to company worksites (usually weekly) to interact with employees and build trust and friendships.
• Provides confidential pastoral discussions for employees and immediate family members on issues including family matters, illness, grief, finances, and stress; offers referrals as needed.
• Plans, conducts, or attends funerals for employees or immediate family members and provides follow-up support.
• May assist in post-termination care to ease transitions to new employment.
• Represents chaplain services to clients and participates in new employee orientation.
