Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. in Rochester, MN seeks a CDL Driver (CN) for a field-based, high-travel role operating hi-rail vehicles and supporting rail-diagnostics operations across the Eastern or Western US.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, DOT compliance, and data collection while traveling 3–4 months at a time. This physically demanding position requires strong safety awareness and excellent communication with crew and railroad personnel.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check (where permitted by law).
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Willingness to travel 3–4 months at a time across regions.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively (3–4 months at a time) within assigned regions.
• Operate hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT logs.
• Assist with rail flaw detection testing and data collection.
