Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver for a highly mobile, field-based role across the Eastern or Western US. You will operate hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars, handling inspections, data collection, and safety compliance while traveling extensively.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of driving experience, a valid CDL with air brake endorsement, and the ability to pass DOT requirements. Per diems, travel, and lodging are provided; a sign-on bonus is offered after 60 days.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement is required.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check (where permitted by law).
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively (3–4 months at a time) within assigned regions.
• Operate hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars on roadways and railroad tracks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT logs.
• Support testing operations and data collection in the field.
• Follow DOT/FRA regulations and wear PPE at all times.
