Job summary

Sperry Rail Service is seeking a CDL Driver for field-based, high-travel assignments across the United States. You will operate specialized rail inspection vehicles, perform inspections, and ensure DOT compliance in varying conditions.

This role requires passing DOT physicals, strong communication, and the ability to meet demanding physical requirements. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by Sperry.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet demanding physical requirements.
• Field driving experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively (3–4 months at a time) within assigned regions.
• Operate hi-rail vehicles and rail-based detector cars on roads and tracks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT compliance.
• Assist with rail flaw testing, data collection, and monitoring onboard systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment clean and organized.
