Medican Communications? (note: company name appears as Mediacom Communications) seeks a Broadband Specialist I (Field Technician) to install and maintain cable TV and broadband services at customer homes in Clinton, Graceville, Wheaton, and Morris.

This role involves driving a company van, setting up equipment, troubleshooting, and occasional sales conversations. Schedule: Mon–Fri 8am–5pm with overtime and on‑call duties as needed, with full benefits and training provided.

Qualifications

• No experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• General mechanical and consumer device knowledge
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces

Responsibilities

• Complete new drop installations (exterior and interior) from tap to antenna terminals in single and multi‑unit dwellings
• Perform new connects, reconnects, disconnections, outlets, and converters as needed
• Analyze picture quality and judge acceptability after installation
• Read signal levels and adjust as needed using a field strength meter
• Drive company vehicle and manage paperwork prescribed by system management
• Inform customers of FCC rules and company policies during service
• Climb poles and work in various heights
• Assist with cleanup and general duties as directed
