Job summary

Gryphon Environmental, LLC is hiring a Regional Environmental Protection Specialist to oversee environmental compliance for U.S. Army Reserve facilities across CT, NY, and NJ. The role is field-heavy, with ~70% travel to sites and time split between home and a Fort Totten–based office.

You will lead assessments, document findings, and coordinate with agencies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and DoD policies.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Environmental Science or related field; 2+ years of compliance or field experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to present to groups.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% within the region and work on-site.
• Proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint; ability to learn Army Reserve software.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal environmental assessments of assigned facilities per regulations.
• Document site visits and findings in Army databases; follow up on Class 1/2 findings.
• Support external assessments and site visits; train facility personnel on compliance.
• Serve as technical point of contact for environmental agencies and contractors.
