Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking a Compliance Environmental Specialist (Assistant Environmental Specialist 2) based in Columbus, Canton, or Cincinnati, OH. The role involves remote work with substantial travel to project sites across the Upper Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.

You will perform field monitoring, review permits and E&S plans, and assist with environmental reports and closeout documents. Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in an engineering/environmental/science field is required.
• 2–4 years of environmental field monitoring experience, preferably erosion and sediment control.
• Strong knowledge of E&S control BMP concepts, designs, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform field monitoring of erosion and sediment controls on projects.
• Review specifications, permits, and E&S control/stormwater plans.
• Prepare and review periodic monitoring reports and data.
• Assist with environmental reports, permit applications, and closeout documents.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and QA/QC standards.
• Travel as required to project sites.
