Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer focused on originations in assigned markets.

You will take applications, perform initial underwriting reviews, and coordinate with processing and underwriting to move loans toward approval. You will travel to meet clients, with at least 50% of your time spent away from banking locations to source sales opportunities and build a referral network, ensuring a smooth closing process for borrowers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of experience in mortgage, sales, or real estate.
• Requires National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) registration under SAFÉ Act and Regulation Z and ongoing compliance with all legal or regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in assigned territory.
• Take applications, conduct preliminary underwriting reviews, and submit to processing and underwriting for approval.
• Follow up to ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner from appropriate sources.
• Incumbents spend at least 50% of time conducting activities away from U.S. Bank locations for sales purposes.
