Reworld is seeking a hands-on Environmental Compliance Specialist to oversee compliance programs across a thermomechanical treatment facility and satellite sites in a field-based role near Haverhill, MA. You will maintain air, water, and waste programs while working closely with operations, maintenance, and regulatory agencies.

This role emphasizes practical, accountable environmental management in an active industrial setting and requires on-site presence at facilities and strong collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry, biology, or related field.
• At least three years of direct, on-site environmental compliance experience in heavy industry, energy, or waste-to-energy facilities.
• Direct participation in environmental permits, renewals, or modifications.
• Experience with environmental testing, monitoring, data review, and regulatory reporting across programs.
• Familiarity with practical compliance in active industrial conditions.
• Experience working with operations, maintenance, contractors, consultants, laboratories, or regulatory agencies.
• Ability to use environmental data-management tools and prepare clear technical recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Support air emissions, CEMS, ash, solid waste, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste compliance.
• Participate in facility permit applications, renewals, modifications, and supporting documentation.
• Complete and review environmental testing, monitoring, data, records, and regulatory reports; ensure submittals meet standards.
• Conduct environmental walkdowns at facilities; document findings and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support air-emissions and CEMS activities, including review of records and testing results.
• Coordinate environmental testing with consultants, engineers, contractors, and labs.
• Analyze data to identify compliance risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Support regulatory-inspection readiness and communicate technical matters to teams and regulators.
• Monitor regulatory changes and help update permits, test plans, and procedures.
• Support community outreach for mercury diversion.
