Job summary

Reworld Waste in the United States, MA, seeks an Environmental Compliance Specialist based at the SEMASS Thermomechanical Treatment Facility in Rochester, MA. You will ensure regulatory compliance, lead permit renewals, and support environmental programs across multiple facilities.

The role collaborates with the Regional Landfill Manager and Director, with a 50/50 split between SEMASS TTF and satellite facilities in Central and Eastern Massachusetts. Travel 10–20% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field with environmental emphasis.
• 3–5+ years of environmental experience, preferably in industrial settings.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and data management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental testing and reporting to meet federal, state and local requirements.
• Manage permitting for ongoing and expanded facility operations.
• Support growth opportunities with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Perform periodic facility walkdowns and prepare inspection reports.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update testing plans and compliance strategies.
• Attend regulatory conferences to stay current on standards.
