Job summary

Tecan is seeking a Field Automation Engineer in the Bay Area, CA to install, troubleshoot, and maintain Tecan Detection instruments at customer sites. This full-time role involves hands-on technical support, application development, and customer training.

You will work with Sales and internal teams to ensure successful implementations, maintain service records, and travel up to 60% regionally, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Science or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory, scientific instrumentation, automation, or related technical experience.
• Hands-on experience with instrument installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, or field service.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and MS Office.
• Ability to travel up to 60% and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install and implement Tecan Detection instruments at customer sites.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Support application development and troubleshooting for customers.
• Provide customer training on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Perform complex instrument demonstrations and support Sales as a technical resource.
• Maintain accurate service records and manage parts inventory.
• Collaborate with Customer, Sales, and internal teams to deliver solutions.
• Travel regularly to customer sites and accommodate short-notice assignments.
