Job summary

Auto Club Enterprises in California seeks an Auto Physical Damage Appraiser to support field claims and write accurate vehicle repair estimates in line with regulations. The role involves assessing damage, communicating with insureds, body shops and other stakeholders, and determining repair costs and total loss considerations.

Responsibilities include inspections, documenting claims, negotiating within authority, and collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Associates or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Vocational equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor's equivalent combination of education and experience
• 4-6 years Claims experience
• 4-6 years Estimating experience
• Advanced understanding of automotive repair processes and damage assessment
• Proficiency with estimating software and CCC Estimating Platform
• Strong organization, planning and communication skills
• Customer service experience and problem-solving ability
• Must be flexible for Catastrophe duties with extended organization

Responsibilities

• Utilize inspections to complete accurate vehicle repair estimates.
• Evaluate accident-related damages and repairability.
• Communicate with insureds, claimants, repair facilities and internal staff.
• Explain claim processes and policy language as applicable.
• Prepare documentation to support estimates with photos and descriptions.
• Negotiate within authority to resolve claims and disputes.
• Coordinate with internal departments and respond to inquiries.
• Assist with Catastrophe duties as required.
