Job summary

Progressive Insurance is seeking an auto damage claims adjuster to be the primary contact for customers, guiding and deciding the repair process from start to finish. This field role includes a company car and travel within Warwick, RI and surrounding areas, with occasional office reporting.

You will inspect vehicles, write estimates, negotiate with body shops, document claims, and determine payments while ensuring compliance with local laws and Progressive standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant work experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience
• Associate's degree and 3+ years relevant work experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience
• Bachelor's degree and 1+ year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and compliance with Progressive’s driving standards and policies

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines
• Negotiate repair process with body shops
• Document information related to the claim and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws
• Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolution of claims without payments
• Review and determine validity of any supplement requests
