Job summary

The Field Representative role with WCIRB is based in Central/ Downtown Los Angeles, performing classification inspections and test audits for employers across the region. You will travel to insureds’ locations, inspect premises, collect data, and collaborate with insurers and brokers to ensure accurate classifications and payroll reporting.

Work is field-based with a home office component, requiring independent judgment, strong communication, and the ability to meet production and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3 years Premium Audit experience with an insurance carrier/fee audit company or equivalent.
• Proficiency in workers’ compensation payroll auditing and standard classification system administration.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Self-starter who can work independently and meet production goals.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview policyholders and inspect premises to classify business operations for workers’ compensation.
• Prepare and proofread classification inspection reports.
• Review insurers’ payroll audits and payroll records for proper exposure reporting.
• Conduct claims classification audits to verify insurer classifications.
• Prepare results of Test Audits and claims audits.
• Ride along with team members and home office staff as needed.
• Prepare general correspondence to employers, insurers, agents and brokers.
