Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager to lead day-to-day field execution of repair activities in Granite City, IL.

You will translate inspection findings into repair scopes and coordinate field teams, contractors, and client personnel to meet safety, schedule, budget, and quality goals. The role emphasizes on-site leadership, documentable QA/QC, and growth of a repair service offering within a programmatic asset management environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, or Civil), or related degree.
• At least 8 years of experience in construction coordination or industrial repair execution.
• Experience in asset-intensive industries such as power, oil & gas, refining, chemical, manufacturing, steel, or mining.
• Strong field leadership, including managing crews, contractors, schedules, and logistics.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documents.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking/documentation tools.
• Willingness and ability to travel to regional client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate field execution of repair and construction projects, including follow-up repair work.
• Serve as the primary field point of contact, ensuring alignment with scope, safety, and client expectations.
• Plan and coordinate daily field operations, including access, scheduling, logistics, and sequencing of repair activities.
• Track field progress, budgets, schedule performance, and communicate status to leadership.
• Support outage and shutdown execution as needed.
• Coordinate repair and construction activities across multiple scopes and assets.
• Assist with mobilization planning, field logistics, and work sequencing.
