Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. seeks a Construction Manager to lead on-site repair and construction activities in the Greater Chicago Area.

You will coordinate field teams, contractors, and client personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and aligned with project goals, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations. This role focuses on translating inspection findings into actionable repair scopes, managing field execution, and contributing to scalable repair services within an asset

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field, or equivalent field experience.
• Strong field leadership and ability to manage crews, schedules, and logistics.
• Experience in asset-intensive industries (power, oil & gas, refining, chemical, manufacturing).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documents.
• Knowledge of inspection methodologies and industrial safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead field execution of repair and construction projects on-site.
• Coordinate field teams, contractors, and client personnel to meet scope, safety, and schedule.
• Plan daily field operations, logistics, and sequencing of repair activities.
• Track progress, budgets, schedule performance, and report to project leadership.
• Support outage/shutdown coordination and QA/QC documentation.
