Job summary

Stantec is seeking an archaeological technician to support field surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring from offices in Riverview, FL, Alpharetta, GA or Mobile, AL. The role involves extensive travel, often deployments of up to three months, with 8–10 hour days.

You will perform shovel testing, surface survey, and excavation while coordinating with Phase I projects and potentially Phase II/III work. A field school completion and flexibility to work remotely are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field.
• Successful completion of an archaeology field school.
• Professional experience conducting archaeological survey and excavation helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform archaeological fieldwork tasks including controlled surface survey; shovel testing; and excavation.
• Contribute to Phase I survey projects and, if applicable, Phase II/III data recovery work.
• Operate mapping equipment and GIS tools in the field.
