Job summary

Stantec is seeking an archaeological technician to support surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring across multiple field sites. The role involves extensive travel, long deployments, and both fieldwork and office coordination as part of the Cultural Resources team.

Applicants should have a relevant degree, field school completion, and the ability to work in remote/humid environments, with strong communication and driving capabilities for site logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field, or combination of education and experience.
• Successful completion of an archeology field school.
• Professional experience conducting archaeological survey and excavation helpful.
• Knowledge of precontact and historic material culture.
• Ability to complete physically demanding tasks in remote areas and/or humid continental climate.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork tasks including controlled surface survey, shovel testing, and excavation.
• Collaborate with team to complete Phase I survey projects and field data collection.
• Maintain safety and equipment protocols during field operations.
