Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an Archaeological Field Lead to join our Cultural Resources team, based in Riverview, FL; Alpharetta, GA; or Mobile, AL. You will lead field surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring on a project-based, full-time temporary assignment with extensive travel.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in anthropology/archaeology or related field.
• Successful completion of an archaeology field school.
• At least 3 years of experience conducting archaeological survey and excavation.
• At least 1 year of supervisory field experience.
• Knowledge of Phase I, II, and III archaeological excavations/assessments.
• Knowledge of prehistoric and historic material culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead archaeological field surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.
• Perform shovel test survey and excavation tasks.
• Oversee a crew during surveys.
• Record and interpret field data; map site plans.
• Coordinate property entry with right of way agents.
• Assist with laboratory analysis and reporting.
