Job summary

Stantec is seeking an archaeological technician to join the Cultural Resources team. The role involves fieldwork, survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring across multiple field offices, requiring extensive travel and deployments up to three months at a time.

The position is full-time and temporary, with paid travel days, per diem, and hotel accommodations for non-local projects, and a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and community collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field needed or combination of education and experience.
• Successful completion of an archaeology field school.
• Professional experience in archaeological survey and excavation is helpful.
• Knowledge of precontact and historic material culture is desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork including surface survey; shovel testing; and excavation.
• Perform data recovery, testing, monitoring, and reporting as part of project work.
• Assist with project logistics and travel planning for field deployments.
