Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking Cultural Resources Technicians to support field-based cultural resource management in the Southeast, with travel across the region. The role involves assisting crew chiefs on various projects and may require up to 100% travel, with a typical 40-hour week on assignment through February 2027.

Successful candidates will perform archaeological surveying, shovel testing, data recovery, field recording, and related field/lab tasks, while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Accredited Field School Certification.
• Ability to travel and work long hours in harsh conditions.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Current valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete archaeological surveying and field testing.
• Conduct shovel test pits and excavation units.
• Execute data recovery and field recording.
• Complete field forms, photography, and in-field mapping.
• Assist with archaeology office and lab work.
• Participate in GPS data collection under supervision.
• Adhere to safety program and mitigate hazards.
