Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking Cultural Resources Technicians to support field-based cultural resource management in the Southeast. You will assist crew chiefs on projects across multiple sectors and travel up to 100% of the time. The position is temporary, typically offering at least 40 hours per week through April 2027.

Applicants must be willing to participate in pre-employment screenings. An accredited Field School Certification and ability to lift up to 40 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Accredited Field School Certification required.
• Ability to travel and perform long field hours in varying weather.
• Must be able to carry equipment up to 40 lbs and operate a 4wd vehicle safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete archaeological surveying and field testing.
• Conduct shovel test pits and excavation units.
• Execute data recovery and field recording.
• Complete field forms, photography, and in-field mapping.
• Assist with office and lab work as needed.
• Participate in GPS data collection under supervision.
• Adhere to safety programs and mitigate hazards.
