Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking Cultural Resources Technicians to support Gulf Coast cultural resource management projects. This temporary field role offers 40 hours/week, through April 2027, with priority given to candidates in Texas and Louisiana.

Responsibilities include surveying, shovel testing, excavation units, data collection, mapping, and lab assistance, with potential 90-100% field time on projects. Hiring may involve extended 10-hour days and travel.

Qualifications

• Accredited Field School Certification.
• Ability to travel and work long hours in varied weather.
• Physical ability to carry equipment up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform archaeological surveying and field testing.
• Conduct shovel test pits and excavation units.
• Execute data recovery and field recording.
• Complete field forms, photos, and in-field mapping.
• Assist with office and lab work.
• Participate in GPS data collection under supervision.
• Adhere to safety program and mitigate hazards.
