Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking Cultural Resources Technicians to support field-based archaeological surveys and testing across the Southeast. The role involves assisting crew chiefs on diverse projects and requires travel up to 100% of the time, with a typical 40-hour week and potential extended schedules.

The position is temporary through February 2027 and includes field and lab work, data collection, and mapping.

Qualifications

• Accredited Field School Certification is required.
• Ability to travel to field sites and perform long hours in varied conditions.
• Must be able to carry equipment up to 40 pounds and operate a 4wd vehicle when needed.
• Valid driver's license required for field travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform archaeological surveying and field testing across projects.
• Conduct shovel test pits and excavation units.
• Execute data recovery and field recording.
• Complete field forms, photography, and in-field mapping.
• Assist with field office and lab work.
• Participate in GPS data collection under supervision.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and mitigate hazards.
