Job summary

Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, History and Archaeology program, seeks an Archaeologist I to support CRM field crews in survey, testing and mitigation projects at Nespelem, WA. This non-exempt role covers site documentation from fieldwork through report preparation and may lead crews on specified projects.

Responsibilities include GPS/GIS data handling, archival graphic support, and training of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Requires BA in Anthropology, Archaeology, American History, or Native American Studies focusing on archaeology.
• Minimum 24 months of archaeological field work experience with 6 months as crew chief.
• Valid State Driver’s license and tribal vehicle insurance eligibility.
• Ability to travel and work non-standard schedules in outdoor field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Participate on CRM field crews including survey, testing, and mitigation activities.
• Assist with or conduct documentation of sites from field to report preparation.
• May serve as Crew Chief and supervise/train staff in field procedures.
• Perform GPS data collection and GIS data manipulation for projects.
• Provide graphic support for reports and assist with database maintenance.
