Job summary

Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation seeks an Archaeologist I to contribute to CRM field projects in Nespelem, WA. The role involves survey, testing, mitigation, and documentation from fieldwork through report preparation.

The incumbent may serve as Crew Chief on select projects, supervise trainees, and perform GPS/GIS tasks while coordinating with the History and Archaeology program. Flexibility for field conditions is required.

Qualifications

• BA in Anthropology or Archaeology or related field with archaeology focus.
• 24 months field work experience with 6 months as crew chief or equivalent.
• Valid State Driver’s license and eligibility for tribal vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological fieldwork including survey, inventory, evaluative testing, and mitigation activities.
• Assist with or conduct documentation of sites from fieldwork to final report preparation.
• Possibly serve as Crew Chief and supervise/train less experienced staff.
• Perform GPS duties and GIS data handling for project reporting.
