Job summary

WSP USA Inc. is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians for field projects in the Western U.S. These on-call hourly positions require readiness for imminent work. Pay will be determined by education and experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of archaeological field experience.
• CRM field experience or academic field school preferred.
• Knowledge of equipment, technology, and paperwork used in recording and documenting archaeological sites and artifacts.
• Ability to learn local cultural history and material culture.
• Ability to plan and execute personal assignments with minimal instruction.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support using anthropological and archaeological field techniques for locating, testing, recording, mapping, and evaluating archaeological sites.
• Support field surveys through pedestrian surveys and shovel-test surveys.
• Use topographic maps, aerial photos, and ESRI Arc Field Maps GPS data collection software for survey work.
• Work long hours in difficult or remote environments and varying weather conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with groups of diverse personalities.
• Maintain a positive attitude, accept direction, and work independently when needed.
• Plan and execute personal assignments with minimal instruction.
