Job summary

WSP USA Inc. seeks Archaeological Field Technicians for fieldwork on multiple projects in Nevada, Oregon, and Utah. These are on-call hourly positions with imminent work, paid by education and experience, with single-occupancy hotel rooms and per diem provided.

Candidates perform Class III survey work across remote areas in the Western U.S., with opportunities for additional tasks as needed. Provide technical support using field techniques, conduct pedestrian and shovel test surveys, and use GPS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology
• Minimum 1 year archaeological field experience
• CRM field experience or field school
• Knowledge of recording artifacts and sites
• Ability to work long hours in remote areas
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to pass drug test and background check
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support using archaeological field techniques
• Support field surveys through pedestrian surveys and shovel test surveys
• Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, and GPS data collection software
• Work long hours in remote environments and varying weather
• Collaborate with diverse groups and stay positive
• Plan and execute assignments with minimal instruction
• Maintain safety and documentation throughout projects
