Job summary

WSP USA Inc. is seeking 10 to 15 Archaeological Field Technicians for fieldwork on multiple projects across Nevada, Oregon, and Utah.

These are on-call hourly positions with pay determined by education and experience, and include single-occupancy hotel rooms and per diem. Successful candidates will perform Class III archaeological survey work in the Western U.S., with potential for extended fieldwork in remote areas and additional opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline.
• 1 year minimum of archaeological field experience.
• Previous CRM field experience or academic archaeological field school.
• Knowledge of equipment, technology, and paperwork used in recording archeological sites and artifacts.
• Ability to work independently and plan/execute assignments with minimal instruction.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support using basic archaeological field techniques for locating, testing, recording, mapping, and evaluating sites.
• Support field surveys through pedestrian surveys and shovel test surveys.
• Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, and ESRI Arc Field Maps GPS data collection software to conduct survey work.
• Work long hours in difficult or remote environments and in varying weather conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communicate clearly.
