Job summary

ATUM is seeking a motivated Technical Field Applications Scientist (FAS) to be a scientific liaison for our biologics and cell line development offerings. You will translate ATUM's capabilities into differentiating value for prospective customers and licensees, working with Commercial and Business Development teams across the sales cycle.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a Field Applications Scientist, Technical Sales, or advanced R&D role within life sciences
• Deep knowledge of biologics/drug development, molecular biology, gene synthesis, protein engineering, and mammalian cell line development
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication in scientific and business contexts
• Willingness to travel up to 40%

Responsibilities

• Partners with Commercial team as the primary scientific liaison to customers
• Provides technical guidance on ATUM integrated services (gene design, transient expression, CLD) in client meetings and proposals
• Supports licensees on technical feasibility, particularly vector design and cell line development
• Delivers consultative advice, troubleshooting, and tailored platform solutions including tech transfer protocols and data packages
• Helps align and hand off projects between clients and ATUM’s scientific teams in the San Francisco Bay Area
• Manages multiple opportunities and technical projects via LIMS and CRM
• Collaborates with legal on license amendments and transfer agreements
• Ensures customers comply with reporting obligations and quality standards
