Job summary

ATUM is seeking a Technical Field Applications Scientist (FAS) to act as a client-facing subject matter expert, supporting licensing, gene synthesis, protein expression, and Cell Line Development.

The FAS collaborates with Commercial and Business Development teams to identify target accounts, drive opportunity creation, and advocate for ATUM services with prospective and existing customers.

Qualifications

• Requires BSc/MSc in Molecular Biology or related field; PhD is a strong asset.
• 3-5 years in Field Applications Scientist or technical sales in life sciences.
• Deep knowledge in biologics/drug development, molecular biology, gene synthesis, and mammalian cell line development.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills for scientific/business communication.
• Up to 40% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary scientific liaison for customers and revenue projects.
• Provide technical guidance on ATUM's services (gene design, transient expression, CLD) in client meetings and proposals.
• Support licensees with technical feasibility and vector design discussions.
• Deliver consultative advice, troubleshoot, and present platform solutions to clients.
