Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to support customer deployment, qualification, and ramp of ion beam deposition systems.

You will serve as a technical owner for assigned engagements, independently supporting tool qualifications, process transfer, and ramp activities after initial training. The role requires strong process knowledge, equipment troubleshooting, and excellent customer-facing communication.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of thin-film deposition processes and vacuum hardware is required.
• Experience qualifying and supporting production equipment in customer environments.
• Ability to interpret process data and identify trends for improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead process qualification and acceptance activities at customer sites.
• Execute BKMs and support process transfer to customer manufacturing.
• Perform data collection, analysis, and reporting to meet requirements.
• Troubleshoot process, hardware, and system issues with cross-functional teams.
• Support installation, startup, and qualification of new systems at customer facilities.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 75%.
